Yves Saint-Laurent on Catherine Deneuve in La Chamade (1968)

It’s hard to believe but it was a time when people respected their own professions and jobs of others. For example, Catherine Deneuve was a muse of Yves Saint-Laurent but she never “created” so called limited eddition capsule collections for his fashion label and Yves Saint-Laurent never tried to be somebody else but designer.
Everybody did his(her) own job at best, that’s why then it was much more beautiful clothes and good films than now.
You can’t call La Chamade (1968) a masterpiece but definitely you can call this movie is an eye-candy at least for 2 reasons: beautiful Catherine Deneuve and her costumes created by Yves Saint-Laurent.
Based on Francoise Sagan’s novel La Chamade tells us the story of the girl who on her own experience learnt that posh though a bit boring life with mature noble man is better than insecure life with passionate and young but poor guy.

Jewels in La Chamade are sophisticated too. I guess those pieces belong to Chaumet, cause Catherine Deneuve’s heroine sells her necklace in Chaumet’s boutique.
